Taking Care Of your Skin this Winter
Why our Skin becomes Dull And Dry
in Winter.
It was early morning and my brothers
younger kid started complaining about a burning sensation on her cheeks
. She was unable to explain why but when I saw I realised it wass due to dry
skin. This is a common problem during winter. But why does our skin becomes dry
and dull in winter?
Winter season is marked as Hemant
Ritu in Ayurveda. In this season vata doshas increase .
Increased vata dosha causes dryness and dehydrationof skin .
We have dull dry skin,dry lip allergies and other skin problems.
To avoid variation of vata dosha and imbalance Ayurveda suggests a seasonal routine of
particular diet and lifestyle
How to Fight Dryness and Dullness of Skin in Winter
Increase Intake of Fluids
Provide our body plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
Try to increase intake of water juice, lassi.
Seasonal Fruits
To have natural glowing skin one should eat seasonal vegetables and
fruits.. Our skin needs certain nutrients to facilitate healing and restoration
and eating natural food is best way to keep skin healthy.
Always include fruits in our daily diet for glowing skin. Apple , Pomegranate,
Orange and Pear are some fruits which are good to keep our skin healthy and glowing
even in winter.
Citrus fruits including lemon, orange, grapes are at their juiciest in
winter season They contain vitamin-c and are rich source of fluorides.
They also help in enhancing cardiovascular system and boosts immunity as well.
Oil Massage
In winter sebaceous glands shrink.
Due to which we need oil massage regularly .

Do oil massage regularly in winter
every day before bath.

Apply some amount of oil on
umbilicus.
Water
Drink plenty of Water
While bathing do not use soap 2, 3 times in a week try
moisturising soap.
It is not a good idea to use very hot water for bathing.
Apply moisturizer and lotion after every day bath.
Remedies
Curd is best moisturizer for dry skin people. Apply curd 1tspoon +lemon
juice 2,3drop on face.
Orange peels powder+ghee Apply on face and all over body.
Besan+multani mitti+turmaric make paste with raw milk.apply once a week
for dry skin.
Orange peels powder+rice flour+almond powder make paste with milk apply
over body give good
result in dull ,dry, and dehydrated skin.
Lip care To take care of dry
lips Apply milk cream(malai) , honey, coconut oil, almond paste on dry lips.
