What is Vata Pitta Kapha in Ayurveda - Beginners guide to Ayurveda
Ayurveda is science of life.
Ayu mean life and  veda mean science.
Before we adapt any Ayurvedic routine for our self we should know what is the dosha type of our body. Doshas are structural and functional units of our body responsible for health and disease in the living being.
In balance state doshas maintain
the body strength growth and function.
         
According to Ayurveda our whole galaxy and our body is configured with 
five  panch maha bhuta (elements)
These are  Akash(ether), Prithvi(Earth), vayu(Air), jala(water), agani(fire).
Our  doshas made from these
elements .
Vata dosha is combination of vayu and
akash
Pitta dosha is combination of Agani
and jala.
Kapha dosha is combination jala and prithvi.
This does not mean that the doshas do
not possess the remaining elements .They are in sukshama(small) form.
Vata Dosha:    
 Because Akasha and Vayu are
responsible for creating movements and space in our body  internally and
externally.through  which fluids move and transformation take place this
is why vata dosha consider as one of the most important  bio energy .
It is also driving  force for Pitta and Kapha  dosha.
It allows proper flow of air to every
cell in our body.Our nervous system is often associated with the vata dosha
because of movements of impulses between CNS(Central Nervous System) and PNS (Peripheral
nervous system)
 All voluntary  involuntary
movements are caused  due to vata dosha.
Due to dushit vata 80 type of disease
occur.
Elements in the body which constitute
Vata their appearance is  Light,  they are Rough, they are  Mobile, Transparent,Cold
Now we know the properties of vata
dosha .
How the vata dosha type of people
are.They are lean body frame very active  people .
They are easily agitated 
 restless,  over thinking people 
 . Fickle by nature, unsteady in making decisions.
They have dry skin and hair. light
voice. they do not need to have lot of sleep. 
They become  fresh in 6,7hr
sleep.
Vata dosha people probably have some
complaint like anxiety ,joint pain, constipation, muscular stiffness,
indigestion.   
Pitta dosha: 
         
  Because of the fire and water are responsible for gross  digestion
and metabolism of our body. 
Pitta dosha transforms the body
through its various stages of growth and development . 
Pitta dosha  is also driving
force behind our intellectual and perceptions of thoughts.
This dosha maintains our body temperature
and provides  colour to our skin .
Pitta dosha transforms  digested
food in to its usable and disposable unit.
Due to dushit pitta dosha 40 type of
disease occured.
        Physical
properties of pitta dosha is hot sharp and oily fluid.
Mainly pitta dosha responsible for
digestion  metabolism. and intellectual aspects of our body.
         Pitta
dosha type of people  sharp  Ambitious . They have constant
weight  . They are short tempered but cheerful
         
Intolerance due to hunger and heat. Pitta people talk nicely. They have disturb
sleep pattern.
        These
type of people have skin diseases ,hyper acidity  hair loss, inflammation
etc.
Kapha dosha
         
 Because of its water and earth elements provide structure stability and
strength to the living being the binding properties of kapha  assist in
binding and holding our body together . Prithvi element keeps our body firm.
     Kapha dosha help
to maintain our physical appearance  through
its moisturizing and healings properties. Our immunity also depends on proper
functioning of Kapha dosha.
 Due to the sticky property of kapha help to
maintain  lubricants of our body and smoothness of our body Kapha dosha
provide synovial fluid between joints. protect brain , spinal  column .
       
 Kapha people are large in body frame.they are calm soft ,loving ,gentle 
and composed in nature. They have ability to  take firm judgement . They do not feel
hunger  they are slow and steady  kind of person.
Creation , nutrition stamina and
immunity depend on kapha dosha.
Commonly They have indigestion
,cough, asthma.etc
There 7 types of Human Prakruti (tendencies). 3
Doshas mentioned above and a combination of the Doshas.
According to Ayurveda your Prakruti determines your
treatment  and also what life style to
follow.
