Pitta: Fire and Water


        According to Ayurveda imbalance doshas causes disease. If our diet is wrong there is no rule of medicine and If our diet and lifestyle is right there is no need of medicine. So we have to take our diet according to

Pitta is composed of fire and little amount of water.

Qualities of pitta are Hot, sharp , irritating, fast , constant weight, slightly oily, Pushy.

Pitta people in balance state:

  •  People with Pitta  are mediummuscular build 
  •  idealists,  energetic, organised , solid  .
  • They have ability to be good boss or good leaders. 
  • They are short tempered . 
  • Their skin is warm and radiant
  • They are cheerful ,they have good digestion

Pitta people in imbalance state 

  • An uncomfortable feeling of heat in the body.
  • An occurrence of acute inflammation and swelling in the body.
  • Appearance of blemishes and acne on skin.
  • Gray hair and balding.
  • Feeling frustrating, short tempered and irritable.
  • Acidity nausea discomfort upon missing meals.   
  • They are too time conscious.


Causes for pitta dosha imbalance:

  • Eating pitta aggravating food. Eating while angry . 
  • Eating spicy food ,chilies, raw onions and yogurt.
  • Excessive drinking of coffee, alcohol . 
  • Not much organised sleep.
  • Being aggressive and competitive.
  • Exercise at the hottest time of the day.
  • Wearing tight clothes and always wear hat .
       

Food and lifestyle routine for balance pitta dosha.     

  • Reduce the intake of hot and spicy food .
  • Eat sweet food that decreases pitta. 
  • Excercise during the cooler part of the day.
  • Drink  cool milk with some amount of cardamom .
  • Use some snacks between meals.
  • ghee and olive oil is good for them . 
  • avoid excessive heat and steams . 
  • limit the salt.
  • include sweet ,bitter, and astringent tastes in our food
  • Include these veggies potato, peas, carrot bell pepper ,corn cucumber.bannana , apple , grape, mango , papaya, pomegranate, oats  , rice, wheat, barley, cow's ghee ,moong bean coconut oil 
  • Spices in small quantity like turmeric, coriander, cardamom, mint.


   

  Pittta people should avoid these foods or take them in small quantity 

 Chillies, eggplant, radish, tomato, spinach, citrus fruits, plumbs, and all unripe fruits, yoghurt, mustard seeds, salt, vinegar .

Besides food control, below are a few things which will help Pitta Dosha people to maintain balance of Pitta
  • Sleep relaxes so a good nights sleep is very important for them. 
  • Coconut oil massage is good for them.
  • Spend time with friends because they need emotional support. 
  • Spend time in visually  calming and natural environment.
